For over 17 years, Ian has been a thought and industry leader in the global Internet of Things space. As the CEO and founder of Beyond Wireless, Ian has an innate need to contribute to humanity and the environment.

During the boom and bust years of the dot-com era, Ian worked for several tech start-ups where he found inspiration in the idea of solving problems using the power and reach of the Internet.

In the early 2000s, when mobile data first came onto the market, Ian was hired by a large international mobile network operator where he was central to devising and driving their mobile data strategy. There, he learned three things: 1) He could never work for a large international mobile network operator; 2) Ubiquitous wireless connectivity would eventually become an assumed commodity and 3) Commoditised wireless connectivity would change everything!

So in 2003, Ian founded Beyond Wireless Technology, a company whose sole purpose is to look Beyond the technology and ask the question, "what problems can this technology solve?”. Today Beyond's technology is deployed in 74 countries where it quite literally saves lives by preventing disease.
